THE TESTIMONIES OF GOD – The Mystery of Two Realities
Matthew 17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
Matthew 25:23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. … And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

The mystery of God testifying as a true Witness over a man’s faithful walk with Him, in itself is eternal life. That is perfection and pure alignment with God because such is only attainable by faith. It pleases God to allow these realities to exist for each and every one of us to be partakers of in the similitude of Christ. We are never left alone on our walk of faith to ourselves. We are shepherded by the ever abiding presence of our great High Priest who has gone ahead of us to make the way for us to come boldly, face to face with The Father, through the broken veil which is His body. (Heb 10:20)
Dear Overcomer, there is nothing set against you in your walk of faith that is uncommon in the story of faith that God has been telling from the foundation of this earth. And also, there is nothing given to those who have gone ahead of you, that will be withheld from you at the completion of your journey. You are not alone and will never be. Faith in itself as a principle of walking with God, anchors you in hope to eternity like an unbreakable cord that holds you in place.
Yes there are trials and tribulations in your flesh, however, these things are meant to birth in you the realities of Christ and also to give you a double testimony that has been promised of God. God cannot fail. For in the mouth of two witnesses, every word shall be established.
There is a mystery of dual testimony at play every day of our lives as we journey here on earth, which have direct consequences in our eternity. Both mysteries are meant to bring us into perfection with God. The men of faith in scriptures all had testimonies of pleasing God while here on earth, (see Heb 11) and by those walks of faith that pleased God, the books of works recorded unto them each day, that which is rewarding before God. Of a truth dear Overcomer, as you journey through this parched land as pilgrims, remember always the mystery of God bearing witness of men that walk by faith and also keep in mind that there are books opened always before the angels and the witnesses in heaven which record your works and walk of faith each day while here on earth. A testimony of God in a man’s life is worth living and dying for. Do all to protect that which is given you of the Father, for by it your joy shall be full in that Day of the Lord.
UNDERSTANDING THE TESTIMONY
A testimony is a will in the hand of a man, given by God to fulfill a need in the heart of God on earth in his generation. It is that which a man should live and die for without wavering in faith. It is the living out of this will by a man to please God that God bears witness of. This will of God or testimony is tied to a need in the heart of God for a generation. And those to whom this will have been made available to in any generation are only able to live them out by their walk of faith with God, who in turn bears witness of their walk with Him as a testimony of their faithfulness. Meaning, that which God bears witness of, is that which pleases and meets the need of His heart. The books of works (Rev 20:12) are designed to record the works of men that meet the needs of God. Meaning that, doing a good work on earth that is not tied to the need of God in a generation is nothing but toys in the sea of sand. The testimony and witness of God over a man can only come when such a man does that which is the need of God in his generation. It is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. This is particularly important for every overcomer to understand, in that everything God does is in line with the counsel of His own will. To put it in another way, God is counselled by His own will.
(See Ephesians 1: 11)
“This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased” as God bearing witness over His Son Jesus is not for Christ alone. He, Jesus, came to model for us how we should live here on earth bearing the testimony of God over our lives. It is a witness God reserves for those who will walk in faith with Him. The question however is this, can God trust us enough to share such testimony about us to creation? It is a question every overcomer must answer for himself and also be sure of. The reality of “This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased” and the reality of “The Books of Works” are very real and are counting each day for or against us, whether we know it or not. They determine our eternal realities in and with God.
I read a book by Anna Rountree titled “The Heavens Opened Up”. She said about heaven that, the things men build or do here on earth in the name of God but which are not of God, are nothing but plastic toys in the sea of sand. I pictured in my mind an entire continent of sand with all manner of toys sacttered everywhere on the sand. Its a waste of God’s time and resources and it leaves those who live like that with no eternal rewards. I made up my own mind long ago that I will not build on the sea of sand things that will be covered up because they have no eternal value. Men pride themselves with their mega churches, big cars, private jets and all that stuff, which are nothing before God. They are just plastic toys in heaven.
I encourage you Overcomers, do not be carried away by what men call life or those things which they attribute to God or godliness. It’s powered by the mystery of Babylon, the system of buying and selling. The only things that matter are the testimony of God over a man while on earth and the declaration of the Lord Jesus over that same man when his journey of faith comes to an end. I personally will give all to hear God bear witness of me while I am on earth saying “This is My beloved son in whom I am well pleased” and also to hear the Lord Jesus say when my walk of faith is done “Well done thou good and faithful servant…”
However, I am not careful to say that not all will inherit such testimonies, for not all are mindful of the things of God, even though everyone has the chance to be a recipient of such honor from God.
For you whose mind is made up to walk this path of faith, do not lose heart or faint at the face of trials and tribulations which must come to you. Do not lose your anchor of hope which is meant to hold you intact to the Rock of Ages. For what shall it profit a man if he gains the toys of this world and loses his life in eternity? It’s a failed investment and will amount to nothing. The reality check now is that, if there is a testimony promised of God for those who walk in faith with Him and if there are books of works recording everything we do here on earth in response to God’s heart’s desire for us, how must we walk on earth before Him who sees all things? There are no grey areas dear Overcomers. No compromises of any sorts. Our walk of faith with God is real and the books of works are real with eternal life and living as rewards. The Apostle Paul had this to say of these realities:
1 Corinthians 3:9-15
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
Walk before God and be thou perfect.
I do not speak of things I have not considered as true, neither do I say things I have not walked or I am not walking already. For if I speak of things and do not walk them out, then I am a deciever of myself and the Day will prove it in time. So dearly beloved ones of the Father, do not lose hope over the things you are facing or will face. For it is better for you to have the testimonies of God right in your pain than to gather the riches of this world in your “comfort” which amounts to nothing. For when God looks into the earth and finds you worthy of that person that He can use as a model or plumbline to show the world His heart’s desire, how glorious that is before the angels. God doesn’t lack eternal realities, but He lacks those in whom He will bear witness of these things that are hidden in Him. Let God find you faithful in all things before Him.
“The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy…” doesn’t mean when someone gives testimony of what God did, it will propel a prophecy for the same thing to happen in the future. It happens but it’s not the full picture. It simply means that as God found Jesus worthy of “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”…, He longs also to find us worthy of the same testimony. For Jesus said to His disciples “As My Father sent me, so I send you.” To be co-heirs of eternal inheritance with Christ is to fulfill in deeper measures that which He fulfilled while He was here on earth and also partake of the eternal life that flows from the throne of God. What a great mandate upon the shoulders of the Overcomers. When Jesus said that the things He did we will do and greater things we will also do, He wasn’t talking about more miracles or more signs and wonders, more churches or more money. Not at all. It means that the pre-crucifixion Jesus was the least in the Kingdom and the least in the Kingdom was limited. However, because He has gone to the Father, the eternal treasures that are at the right hand of God are now opened up for us to access even while here on earth, bearing the testimony of Christ. Men saw the pre-crucifixion Jesus while He walked on the earth, only few saw Him in His glorified body after His resurrection. The greater work is tied to the reality of the post-crucifixion Christ and they are eternal in their expressions.
The books of works are books of witnesses that record our faithfulness to the testimony of God that we were given by God in order to fulfill a need in His heart in our generation. I believe personally that each man on earth has a book of works before God and the witnesses in heaven where their works of faithfulness are recorded. Faithfulness is key to walking with God and He delights in us walking in faithfulnees in small things to prepare us for bigger things. He who is faithful in small things, is also faithful in big things. He who is not faithful in unrighteous Mammon, who will give him eternal riches. In other words, if a man is not faithful to the realities of the pre-crucifixion Jesus (The things I have done), who will give him the eternal riches of the post-crucifixion Jesus (Greater things than these)? Jesus in His days on earth was the least in the Kingdom, but has now become the greatest in the Kingdom. A life of selfless death on the cross brought Him from being the least to being the greatest. And this is what we have been called to do and become, for the greatest in this Kingdom is the one that serves.
So dear Overcomer, as you journey in this space called earth, walk in faith with God and be perfect. The walk of faith by design generates a lifestyle of faith also. This lifestyle of faith is not to prove anything to anyone, but by it, the knowledge of God is lived out each day. And the walking by this knowledge of God is eternal life right here on earth for every man who so walks.
Of Enoch it was written “And Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him.”
Of Noah it was written “being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
Of Abraham it is written “And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;…” and also this “By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
Of Jesus it was written “This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased…”
Of Job it is written “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?”
All these men of faith have testimonies of the will of God and thereby God bore witness of their faithfulness even while they were yet on earth. So think about it dear ones, what is the testimomy of God in your hand and what shall God’s witness of you be? Eternity is tied to it.
In conclusion, remember that there are things at the right hand of God which He has prepared as treasures for our glory. There is the power of an endless life promised in Christ which is a life giving Spirit, there is the power of the age to come, in which age we are already in and there are those things which eyes have not seen, nor ears heard and which has not entered into the hearts of men the things prepared of God for those who love Him. These things we know and have access to as we walk by the Spirit with Him in faith. Walk by the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
God bless you.
