THE DAY OF THE LORD – The Sword of Justice

Introduction

Certainly, there are lots of scriptures that speak about the Day of the Lord. I will use only a few as references for this article. (Please note the scriptures I have referenced are taken from the NKJV.)

Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! For what good is the day of the Lord to you? It will be darkness, and not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion, And a bear met him!
Or as though he went into the house, Leaned his hand on the wall, And a serpent bit him! Is not the day of the Lord darkness, and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it? Amos 5:18-20

The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress,
A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And against the high towers. Zephaniah 1:14-16

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south. Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the Lord my God will come, And all the saints with You. It shall come to pass in that day That there will be no light; The lights will diminish. It shall be one day Which is known to the Lord— Neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen That it will be light. And in that day it shall be That living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, Half of them toward the eastern sea And half of them toward the western sea; In both summer and winter it shall occur. And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be— “The Lord is one,” And His name one. Zechariah14:1-9

…always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4:10-11

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:23

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. Philippians 3:20-21

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10

UNDERSTANDING THE DAY OF THE LORD
There are lots of interpretations concerning the Day of the Lord both in the church system and in the world. Even the Muslim sect believes in the return of the Son of Mary, Isa, who will come and destroy the anti-christ or the Dajjal and then establish Islam as the only religion in His kingdom. However, there is one, which I believe is the most popular of the various interpretations, but which in itself is a deception and a lie that has thrown men from the path of truth of the cross into believing lies and also “flourishing” in them. The institution church calls this event the rapture, a moment in time during which men will be snatched away from earth as though escaping the face of the raging anti-christ who will bring terrible tribulation to this world after the coming of Christ. Using various scriptures to match this belief, men have been taught in church to live ready for this escapist rapture, to take them away from tribulation, while not being told that the Lord Jesus Himself said that “IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATIONS OF THOSE DAYS, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Mat 24:29-30. (Emphasis mine). Let me put it this way. If for instance let’s say the rapture theory is true, which it is not, according to the scripture just quoted above, then the rapture can only happen after the tribulation. Why? There is no “rapture” without the coming of Christ and the coming of Christ is not possible without the tribulation period first. And this is because the Lord Himself said, “immediately after the tribulations of those days”. Meaning that even if there is rapture, it will still be after the tibulation and thus the escapist mindset sold to the church over the years is baseless. The theory of the rapture before the tribulation is false and has nothing to do with truth, for all men must go through the tribulation which is God’s final test for them that will overcome and rule with Him as Kings and priests. (See Revelation 3:10)

Anyway, this article is not about the rapture but about the Day of the Lord.

THE GENESIS DAY OF THE LORD (GEN 2:3-5, JOHN 1:6-10)
The Day is Light and the Light is Day. I have always been intrigued by the use of capital “D” for Day in the description of the Light that God commanded in the beginning. For I want to believe that the capitalization of a word often refers to that name as an entity or something that is not simply inanimate. And to also know that capital “N” was also used for Night is quite interesting too. But let’s keep track of Light only in this particular article.
The Day of the Lord is the day, in literal terms, in which Jesus, the Lord and King of kings, will appear in this physical world as LIGHT, bringing with Himself His saints of old who have gone ahead of us, riding on white horses, to be joined by those of His Overcomer Company here on earth. This Company of Overcomers will literally rise out of this body of death and corruption in the twinkling of an eye and be given glorious bodies of light like the Lord Jesus Himself has, and mortality shall be swallowed up by the life of Christ in them. This shall be the true manifestation of the command of God in Genesis – Let there be Light and there is LIGHT. For God purposed in Himself to call forth light out of the darkness of this world through His Overcomers. Put in another term, the Day of the Lord in my own opinion can be called “The Day of the Light.”
And yes, concerning the coming of the Lord, it will be on a literal one day, at least from the perspective of natural time, but the Day of the Lord itself is not just a literal one day event. For the numerous things shown to John the beloved in the book of Revelation speak of the events of the Day of the Lord which he was given previews of, hitherto written in symbols and codes. And I do not believe all that will happen within a one literal day.

THE SWORD OF JUSTICE
The judicial system of the world works by facts of events, arguments and counter-arguments of legal practitioners, and not necessarily by truth; but the justice system of God’s Kingdom works by Truth and truth alone. Jesus is Truth and there is no lie in Him. He Himself is the Sword of Justice that will test all things and deliver accurate judgment for truth. He will, by the truth of Himself as the Word of God, bring unto judgment everything under the sun and within the entire cosmos unknown to man. For by Him and His Word of truth shall satan and all his agents be destroyed. And because God has raised for Himself sons and daughters who follow the Lamb wherever He goes, and having rebirthed them unto immortality by the life of Christ, they also will be swords of justice in the hand of God to purge creation of corruption. For it is written of the Christ when He comes on His Day:
“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth JUSTICE to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth JUSTICE FOR TRUTH. He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established JUSTICE in the earth;
And the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Isaiah 42:1-4 (Emphasis mine)

THE DAY OF SEPARATION
The Day of the Lord is meant to do a lot of things that we cannot cover in this one article, but I will talk about the main ones that concern us directly for now. It is worth noting that all the scripture references used for this write-up speak of the Day of the Lord as something terrible in which the destruction and the removal of all things shall be beyond what man has ever been able to think is possible. Yes it all paints the picture of doom and gloom, but it is not exactly what it appears to be. It is not a destruction of all things just for destruction’s sake or to quench “the thirst of vengeance of God” against those who refuse Him or His Son. It is a day of the separation between the wheat and the tares. A day of the separation between that which is death and that which is life. It is a day in time in which the corruption in man will be removed in order for incorruption to take its place. The destruction described is the total removal of that which man made or created in this body of death on earth, for God must bring to Himself all things in purity and holiness.
It is the day in which the Overcomers (those who have overcome the things in their flesh by their dying on their cross like Jesus did on His own cross) will be separated from those who didn’t overcome in their flesh. (Please read my other articles about the Overcomers and their cross). It is this separation that will cause the sons of God, the overcomers to rise in bodies of light out of this body of death, activate the destruction of all things in this physical world of flesh and then bring forth the beginning of the millennial reign of Christ on earth. This is the first resurrection from the dead, meant for only those who overcome in their flesh by the mercy and grace of God alone. It is this very separation for which the wisdom of God created a place in Himself for a small group of Overcomers to arrive on the scene of the earth, to show them to the others as firstfruits of the Spirit, who will learn the song of the life, way and truth of the Lord and then teach it to the others within the time frame of the millennial reign. The millennial reign will not be for perfecting the nations, but for instruction in the first principles of the doctrine of Christ. Which is the way, the truth and the life of God which men rejected while in their bodies one earth. For the grand agenda of God is to bring all things back unto Himself in a grand restitution. (See Acts 3:21)

Ironically, there is no single Overcomer alive who can boast of having overcome all things in themselves yet while in this flesh. If it were possible in this flesh, men would have attained it already. For it is not a thing done by strength but by the grace of God and mercy that brought each into being part of this glorious company of overcomers. Meaning, being an overcomer is not because of what you did right or what you did wrong, it is by the election of God through mercy alone. Let me say this to you dear readers and would be Overcomers, the things you feel in your flesh are not determinant of who you are in your spirit. Your flesh cannot be saved but can only be destroyed by the fire of God in order for mortality to be swallowed up by life. And this is not in any way a call for the Overcomer to get into the complacency of the flesh, simply because the flesh cannot be saved. Not at all. It is a call into deeper trust in God and death on the cross of daily trials and tribulations which are only meant to bring us to total submission to God. For he who knows and believes that it is only by grace he was chosen to be part of this company of overcomers will live his life in deep humility and trust in God alone. I know this malady of the flesh and spirit in the Overcomer has always been a cause for discouragement and distraction for many. For each time you want to have that “feeling” of overcoming all flesh in yourself, the flesh seems to rise again in strength. This will not stop until Christ the Lord comes and takes away this body of flesh and then replaces it with the body of light that cannot sin or die. This is what the Day of the Lord is meant for, for the Overcomers. But for those who are not counted as Overcomers, the Day of the Lord will bring with it the second death in the Lake of Fire, in which corruption in man will be judged by the flaming Lake of the Fire of God. This also is not meant for the destruction of man as it were, but for the removal of that corruption in man which is bestial and vain before God. The Overcomers who overcome their flesh while here on earth through submission to their cross, will not be part of this second death which the others will go through in the Lake of Fire. See what Jesus said of these Overcomers ““He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. HE WHO OVERCOMES SHALL NOT BE HURT BY THE SECOND DEATH.” (Rev 2:11) (Emphasis mine)

THE ELEMENTS OF THIS WORLD VERSUS THE ELEMENTS OF THE NEW JERUSALEM
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. Galatians 4:3
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10

Everything created by God and by man, and which were subjected to the fall will be burnt completely with fire, for God will not destroy with water, as He promised Noah after the Flood, concerning the earth. This burning is to remove all that is not of God and to bring forth that which is God. Even the things in heaven will be touched by this refining fire of God. For scripture says God Himself will shake both the heavens and the earth. I find it quite interesting that of all the things created in the Garden, only a few made it to the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21. In the Garden there was: The tree of life, the river that broke into four heads, the Light that was called forth, the earth from which man was made. And in the New Jerusalem, which is the restored and glorified garden of Eden, these same things were present but with glory. (See Rev 22:1-4)

The Elements of the New Jerusalem
*The River of Life: And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. This was the same river that watered Eden, went through the earth in four heads and back to its original state as the water of life from the throne of God and of the Lamb. And because we have been made to sit with Christ on this same throne, we shall also be carriers of this living water by which the earth will be watered again unto restoration. Of a truth, out of our bellies will flow the fountains of living waters.

*The Tree of Life: In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life. This tree of life shows the singularity of life with God with no more room for duality caused by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This tree is the picture of Christ in the midst of the earth. But the call is not just to eat from this Tree of Life, but to come before the face of the Lord and then be changed into His image and glory.

*Which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month: This is for nourishment unto life for God’s people and the leaves for the healing of the nations. No one who has gone through the purification of the Fire of God will be exempted from eating of this fruit of the Tree of Life. The church age was blessed with nine fruit, but this kingdom age will bring twelve fruit of rulership for Gods people.

*And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it: It’s interesting that this scripture seems to suggest that the throne of God is the opposite of the curse. Meaning the absence of the throne of God in the earth in itself is a curse on the earth. Surely, the presence of God and His kingdom is a blessing to man.

*His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads: It’s a beautiful blessing to be sealed with the seal of God and a great service to be part of His family. But this name on the forehead is not necessarily a name cut into the foreheads of men, but it is the mind of the will of God inputted into the heart of man. Man will no longer be in doubt of what the will of God is, for they will become the will of God on earth just as they are in heaven. For the mind of Christ that Philippians 2:5 speaks of, is that mind which submits to “Not my will oh God but your will be done”.

*There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. The mystery of Let there be Light is now accomplished on the earth and darkness will not be found anymore.

*And they shall reign forever and ever: To reign means to rule. The rulership or dominion of man over creation was what man lost in the garden to the trickery of the serpent. But in this age of the kingdom, all will be restored forever.

THE DEATH OF SCIENCE AND MEDICINE
Science, in all its beauty and magical mannerisms, will be done away with and medicine for healing will no longer be found on the earth in the Day of the Lord. Let me share a vision I had some years back about this end of medicine:
In this vision, I went to a pharmacy to get some drugs for someone sick. Getting to the pharmacy, I found the entire place empty with no drugs or anything on the shelves. Then I saw the pharmacist himself folded in a corner very sick. I asked him about the drug that I had come for, and he told me that it was no longer available. Then suddenly I was in space watching the earth below. From that place in space, I could also tell what was happening on the earth. On the earth, somewhere that looks an Asian country, an Asian man was going to bury his dead brother. The corpse was already decaying. Suddenly from beside me in space where I was watching this man and his dead brother, light came from heaven down to the earth and hit the dead man. He woke up immediately, his body restored to a new and clean state. Then that light started spreading all over the earth to heal all things from decay. (End of vision)
Here is the understanding I was given. A time is coming shortly before the Day of the Lord that both science and medicine shall fail. Men shall look for solutions to the sicknesses and diseases on the earth but will not find any. Then shall the sons of God in glorious bodies be revealed on the earth. They alone will have the leaves of the tree of life to cause healing to the nations, for they are the tree of life on the earth having been birthed anew by the glorious light of the King.
Now, the leaves of the tree of life are not physical leaves as it were, but the hands and tongues of the Overcomers. For by the laying on of their hands and spoken words with their tongues, the earth and everything in it shall be healed.

THE DEATH OF MONEY AND BABYLON
Money and the system of this world called Babylon will disappear soon, and nothing of it will be remembered anymore. For the Day of the Lord will bring to pass the rising of the sons of God who will both clear the earth of the corruption of money and Babylon and also cause healing, restoration and re-birth of all things back to God. Money, like in the days of Joseph in Egypt will fail, and men will gladly give their souls for sale to the system of Babylon. But mind you, the system of this world that you see at work right now, which is Babylon itself, will be destroyed without mercy. For the governments of the nations are making policy upon policy to try to salvage their economies and national interests, but none of it shall work or come to any useful result. Why? God is done with corruption of the earth and the Day of His Son and sons is here and nothing will stop Him from bringing the nations of the earth to their knees.

THE DEATH OF DEATH
The Day of the Lord is the beginning of the death of death itself. For the last enemy that shall de destroyed is death. In fact, scripture says that death and hell, who apparently are companions, always working together (See Rev 1:8, 6:8, 20:14) will be thrown into the lake of fire to be destroyed without mercy, for both of them are spirits. And the moment death is taken out, what will be left will be life and life alone. Picture this in your mind for a second, what it will look like if guns, knives, bombs or any tool of death which only work because death is still in existence on the earth, no longer have the ability to take life. For everything will begin to respond only to God’s voice even as they are restored back to the original reason why each was created.

THE OUTPOURING BEFORE THE DAY OF THE LORD
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. Joel 2:28-31
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11

These scriptures are huge pointers to that which must first take place on earth before the coming Day of the Lord.
Both speak of the outpouring that God must carry out on the earth and also the various events that will test the people of the earth and the church and how each one must respond respectively.
Obviously, there is the last outpouring of the Spirit that God must do on earth, according to scriptures, and this is true. However, my fear is this. The institution church or the denominational church is not ready for this outpouring. They speak and make lots of noise about it, but they have stopped carrying their crosses, having bowed down to the influences of Babylon, the woman upon the waters and her life of luxury. Take it or leave it, none without the workings of the cross within them can bear the outpouring of the Spirit that is coming. But because the word of God will find expression no matter what, I want to believe God has prepared a few who will carry this manifestation of the Spirit. I speak of the Overcomers. These will carry this mighty move of the Spirit but with the most humble and broken hearts before God. These will not peddle the word and the power of God for money like the corrupt church has done. These ones will not eat at the table of Jezebel but will eat at the simple table that Wisdom has set up in the wilderness of their justification. For these ones, the only thing that matters to them is bearing the mind of Christ which is “not my will but Your will be done” and they will work by its standards alone. These ones are those who Revelation 12:11 talked about. These ones will overcome the dragon by the Blood of the Lamb Who they have learnt to follow and to bow to, they will overcome by their word of testimony and they will not love their lives to the death. It’s a grand company of die-hard followers of Christ whom God will manifest on the earth and upon which this manifestation of the Spirit will come down like rain. Purity will flow out of them like rain and like the water from the Throne of God. In addition to this, I also see in my spirit another set of sons that God Himself will raise for Himself in the coming days. You don’t have to believe this please except you are told of the same by the Spirit. I see God bringing out for Himself sons from the Islamic nations of this world who have already been trained by the adversity and violence of religious extremism. Look at it this way. There are three attributes or characters that the Overcomers will have on earth as preparation for the Day of the Lord. Revelation 12:11 calls these attributes:
1) They will overcome him (the dragon) by the Blood of the Lamb
2) They will overcome by the word of their testimony
3) They will overcome by not loving their lives to the death
The church was supposed to be the bearers of these three attributes, but having lost their edge and given room for the serpent, they have renounced the power in the Blood of the Lamb, lost the word of testimony that points to Jesus and His cross and the fear of dying to self is the order of the day. Apparently, none of the three attributes is found anymore within the church system, so God cannot use them. The question in my heart then is this. In the world over, which religious sect has used and mastered the attribute of not loving their lives to the death for a cause that they believe in? The Islamic nations, obviously. So imagine God bringing them to the pool of the Blood of the Lamb, putting the word of His testimony in their hearts and mouths, and coupled with their not loving their lives to the death, on top of that pouring His Spirit upon them? That is a blast that no devil in hell will able to withstand. We must not forget that God is a Master Planner and He will use all things to fulfill His grand agenda in time. I believe this outpouring of the Spirit on the Islamic nations will happen in a short time to come. Let me share a word I had with God some years back. On this particular day, I stumbled upon a TV broadcast of the Hajj in Mecca. Sincerely I was only just interested in the way that large crowd walks around the Black Stone. As I watched, then suddenly, a question came to my heart in this manner. “What will it look like if God poured His Spirit upon this massive crowd of Muslim faithful, and will He really do that?” Instantly, I heard the voice of the Spirit confirming to me that, that is exactly what the Father wants to do in the coming days. I was amazed by that revelation. I was told a few other things about this coming outpouring on the Islamic nations which I will not share right now.
What does this whole thing really mean for the church? It means God is done with the show-biz of the institution church, and has determined in Himself to bring forth His reserved “Seven Thousand” called from among men and separated unto Himself, to manifest them on the earth right in the very presence of those that profess to know Him.

In conclusion, the Day of the Lord is fast approaching and non-carriers of their crosses will be left in the dark as to when this will be, but those whose hearts have followed the Lamb in the wilderness of their justification will know and also be prepared for this grand event. For the Apostle Paul said “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2-5.

So I say this to you, dear Overcomers and soon to be manifested sons of God, not to lose heart at the various trials and persecutions coming at you right now. It has only one thing to birth in you. The fullness of the Light of Christ when He, the Lord, comes on His Day.
