HOMOSEXUALITY – The Wage of Idolatry

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Leviticus 18:22

Introduction

When man turns away from the worship of God or rebels against His Lordship, he turns to the next low level, which is, the worship of himself or other men. When man in this new level of worship no longer feels worthy of his own worship, he falls into the very next low level, which is, the worship of the beast. Why? Man is the direct offspring of God (Luke 3:38) and the beast is the direct offspring or result of the fallen state of man. (Gen 3:21, Dan 4:33) These last days have only one contention as their foundation, and that is, who or what to worship. For both the Christ and the anti-Christ will be worshiped. It’s quite scary to know that no one will sit on the fence in this worship narrative; it doesn’t matter if one claims to be an atheist or whatever else.

The Twist and the Hate Speech Narrative

I love God and the way He deals with things as they relate to man. There is nothing or no excuse for a chosen lifestyle that a man can present to Him that He has not already factored in the narrative of life on earth. Man’s compromise does not change Him and neither do man’s changes and choices compromise Him. He is God and in a space of His own. Yes, He is closely knitted with us but also spatially detached from us. But in the end, creation will become one with Him as He planned initially. Of this I am sure, because He said so. See Ephesians 1:10.

We currently live in a twisted world system that glorifies and strengthens anything that keeps the narrative of “there is no God” going.

We live in a hyper-real or pseudo-real world system where if a man speaks for truth and godliness, he is labeled a hater or that the things he said are hate speech. I really wonder how man got to this space of twisted ideology of what is true and what is hate. Anyway, no matter the distance lies have covered, truth will always prevail in the end. The spirit of compromise and double standards has infiltrated every aspect of our society, to the point that even those who would be heirs of the eternal things of God have also joined the twisted narrative and now turn the face against truth, bowing the knee towards compromises of all sorts, while covering same with sweet talking of scriptures. The ability to decipher what is God from what is not God is fading at such an alarming rate. And I fear especially for the institution church. Man’s foolish compromise will not really change anything much, for God will have His way on earth, either by His goodness or by His severity.

A Disconnect from the Knowledge of God

Sincerely, up until a few days ago, I had thought God hated and calls homosexuality abomination simply because it is against nature or the natural pattern He created for man and the natural laws that govern the usage of the body for sexual activities. Sincerely, this was the only thought I had about it and especially how the Apostle Paul puts it in Romans 1:26-27 which says: “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.” I was really terrified when God pointed out a different perspective of these same scriptures a few mornings ago. Let me say He made me see what “For this reason” really meant. He shifted my heart away from the effects (Homosexuality and defilement) to the cause (idolatry that gave birth to defilement). As He opened up these things in my heart, I literally stopped on the road to write a few things down in my jotter. I realized, and scripture backs this up, that homosexuality, that God hates so much, was not even the real issue to be dealt with nor is it the real thing that God is angry at. Homosexuality is actually the result of something else that infuriates God. The Lord made me read Romans 1 again, but this time with fresh eyes and then I was able to backtrack to the reason why God hates and calls homosexuality abomination before Him. It is the spirit of idolatry. Yes. Homosexuality is the fruit of the tree that says “there is no God” and which lives out the expression of defilement and defame of anything that is God, just as corruption is the fruit of sowing to the flesh. Idolatry must be a major priority in the “scale of reference” of the things that are against God, for even the Ten Commandments began with “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Exodus 20:2.

A close look at Romans 1 will show something really amazing. It was God Himself who gave man homosexuality, but not as a gift of love, but as a reward for man’s defiance of Him in choosing to worship idols. See these lines of scriptures. (Please read through Romans 1: 21:28 for context)…because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened…Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness…who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator…For this reason God gave them up to vile passions… even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind…

It was a grave realization for me to see that it was God who gave man up to the defilement of his own body through homosexuality, which was not a gift of love but a reward for the madness of man’s heart. But it became graver also to realize that the sin of homosexuality and the various forms of defilements scriptures speaks about, are actually a disconnect from the life of God. It hurts more to see however, how men give voice of approval – even in the church – to these things in the name of political correctness and the new “let God be the judge” syndrome that people now put up as fronts for their wayward lifestyles and which undermine truth. This really makes me wonder what people think God’s judgment looks like.

A disconnect from the Life of God

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; … (Romans 1:28).

The worst thing that can happen to a man is not if he never had knowledge of God or if he never heard the gospel of Christ. No. The worst thing that can happen to a man is to be disconnected from the life of God which comes by knowing Him. The Lord made it clear in John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Meaning that when a man deliberately lives out the narrative of “there is no God” or deciding not to retain God in his heart and knowledge, he has cut off himself from the life of God and thus will certainly have the reward of such – a debased mind. And in case you have not noticed, the wreck in our societal morals, the spiritual sleep of the nations, the various compromises that are hitting the church and even the people of God, are all the effects of debased minds that turned their backs against God and His truth. This will not continue forever, for God and His Truth will prevail.

The Spirit of Sweet Compromise

Stolen water is sweet and so is sweet compromise. I call it sweet because most people, who you hear speak from the place of compromise, speak with such authority and clarity of mind and with much excitement that you wonder if their new found ideology is intoxicating to their hearts. Anyone can call truth, hate speech, or call those who say the truth, haters. It really does not matter. For it was spoken by the Lord that those who follow after Him and who will walk on the path of truth will be persecuted just as He was. And that brings me to another point. That the world is at peace with the institutional church shows a great deal of compromise that has taken over.

The End Time Worship of the Beast Called Self

There is the beast called self. And this beast is that which is playing out in the hearts of the sons of wickedness and which will play out much more in full in the peak of the days of the end time. There is a beast (an entity) called the man of sin that will emerge out of the earth, to rule the nations and control the world system created by man, using buying and selling, toiling and sweating, the love and worship of mammon as anchor for the souls of men. And as it is already happening, he trades in the souls of men. However, there is the call to come out from among them (the world system) and be separated unto God and the patterns of His kingdom.

For as Apostle Paul puts it in 2Timothy 3:1-2 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves…” Man can only worship what he loves and if he loves himself, he will worship the fallen state of himself – the beast. If you think this is not connected to the concept of “selfie” photos, then think again.

God will Judge

I have heard several times from those who have had direct contact with gays, how loving, compassionate and humane they can be. That is very noble I must say, but not a new story. For the true man that God made was created to be loving, compassionate and humane. Meaning such noble characters don’t really negate that which God says about what He hates. See it this way. No man can love better than God, Who is Love Himself and no man can be more compassionate than God, whose heart of compassion made all things in the first place. And no man can create a moral standard other than the one which God has created. And to make matters scarier to those who like to talk love talks, see what Apostle Paul wrote about love and loving outside of obedience to God.  “And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.” 1Corinthians 13:3. And The Lord further went to say this, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me…John 14:21. Meaning that, love and loving, which men have made to be an emotional response that fulfills the desires of flesh and the corruption of the fallen man is not really what love is.

Love is first, the life of God in a man’s heart which allows him to accept the laws and ways of God and then by those laws and ways, he deals in love with others through obedience to the Spirit of God.

Of a truth, some people don’t believe in the bible, so the bible is not their book for moral codes. However, the wisdom of God is so perfect that whether you believe in the bible or not, natural laws and patterns are proof enough of what is expected of each man to do and to live out as lifestyle. And clearly, without even referring to the bible, homosexuality is against the natural usage of the body for sex. Even animals know this.

It gladdens my heart that Romans 1 that is the base of this article, didn’t end with admonition for just the sin of homosexuality alone, it deals with every form of uncleanness that man can live out as lifestyle. For it says “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:28:32.

Man has come to the point in himself where he thinks God’s judgment is a sit-down-and-let’s-talk kind of thing. No its not. Every man’s own decisions and choices and how they chose to deal with Christ, the Love that God sent will be the bases of their judgment. In other words, man has or will be judged by his own decisions and choices.

Final words

Our society is deep in rot and corruption. Truth and godliness being tagged as evil and anti-society. And those who stand for such truths and godliness are called haters and will be persecuted. The question is this, as an overcomer who has given all to follow Christ, will your love and will for Him stand when you are faced with persecution for your love for Him? Selah.
